Which New GMC Is Right for You?

It mostly depends on how you drive. A few quick questions will point you in the right direction:

Here's a quick rundown of each model.

New GMC Sierra 1500

The Sierra 1500 is GMC's most popular pickup. You can get it as a basic work truck or as a Denali with leather, big screens, and all the extras. Engine choices have included a turbo four-cylinder, a V8, and a Duramax diesel, but what's offered changes by model year and trim, so check the listing for the exact truck. It's a great pick if you pull a boat or trailer, haul gear for work, or just want one vehicle for the week and the weekend.

New GMC Sierra HD

When a half-ton truck isn't enough, the Sierra HD is the next step up. Contractors, landscapers, and horse owners around here use it for fifth-wheel and gooseneck towing. Tell us what you actually pull and we'll help you find the right setup, instead of just pointing to the biggest number in an ad.

New GMC Canyon

The Canyon is easier to park and drive in town than a full-size truck, so it works well if you live in Arlington, Alexandria, or Tysons. The AT4 and AT4X trims add off-road gear for trips out to the Shenandoah Valley.

New GMC Acadia

The Acadia has three rows of seats and plenty of cargo room, which makes it a go-to for families. Lots of Vienna and McLean shoppers compare it with other three-row SUVs, and we're happy to go over the differences with you in person.

New GMC Yukon and Yukon XL

Both are built on a truck platform, so they tow well and still have lots of room inside. The Denali is the dressed-up version. The AT4 has a tougher look and feel. If you often carry six or more people and still need space for luggage, take a Yukon XL for a drive.

New GMC Terrain

The Terrain is the smallest SUV in the lineup. It's easy to park and comfortable on the Beltway and Route 123, and it still looks like a GMC.

New GMC Sierra EV and HUMMER EV

We carry GMC's electric trucks and SUVs, and more people around Northern Virginia are asking about them. See our Sierra EV, HUMMER EV, and New EV Inventory pages for what's in stock.

A note on incentives: the federal EV tax credit ended for vehicles acquired after September 30, 2025. Other offers can change, so ask us what manufacturer or state savings apply to the EV you want.

A Few Things to Know Before You Buy

Super Cruise. Many new GMCs offer Super Cruise, GM's hands-free driving assist for compatible highways. You still have to keep your eyes on the road. It depends on the model, trim, and package, so ask us to confirm it on the exact vehicle. More details are on our Super Cruise page.

Denali vs. AT4. Denali is the premium line, with nicer materials and more tech. AT4 and AT4X are built for off-road driving. If comfort matters most, go Denali. If you'll leave the pavement, go AT4.

Towing and payload. Ratings change with the engine, axle ratio, cab, and bed, and they change from year to year. Check the window sticker and owner's manual on the specific truck, and ask us if you want help making sure it fits what you tow.
